These terms cover your use of this website and the general basis on which Riley's Landscaping ("we", "us") carries out work. Your written quote may include specific terms for your job, and where it does, those take priority.
Using this website
The information on this website is for general guidance only. We try to keep it accurate and up to date, but it doesn't form part of any contract. Photos are examples of the type of work we do.
You're welcome to share links to this website. Please don't copy its content or images for commercial use without asking us first.
Quotes
- Quotes are free and there's no obligation to go ahead.
- Unless stated otherwise, a quote is valid for 30 days. After that, material costs may have changed, so we may need to re-quote.
- Quotes are based on what we can see and are told during our visit. If we find something that couldn't reasonably have been foreseen, such as hidden drains, buried rubble or poor ground, we'll stop and talk to you before doing any extra work or adding any extra cost.
Booking and deposits
- Once you accept a quote, we'll agree a start date with you. We'll always give you as much notice as we can if weather or other circumstances mean the date has to move.
- For jobs expected to take more than a week, we ask for a deposit of two-thirds of the quoted price before we start. This covers materials and wages. The amount will be shown on your quote.
Changes to the work
If you'd like to change the work once it's agreed, just ask. We'll confirm any change in price or timing before we carry it out.
Your responsibilities
- Give us reasonable access to the site, a water supply and somewhere to store materials and waste while we work.
- Tell us about anything we should know, such as underground cables, pipes, drains or boundary disputes.
- Make sure you have any permissions the work needs, such as planning permission or agreement from neighbours for boundary fencing. We're happy to advise.
Payment
- Payment is due when the work is complete. Where a deposit has been paid, the remaining balance is due on completion.
- We accept bank transfer or cash.
Materials and waste
Materials remain our property until the work has been paid for in full.
We're a registered waste carrier. Unless agreed otherwise, we'll remove and responsibly dispose of waste from the job and leave the site clean and tidy. We can't remove asbestos. If we find any, we'll stop work in that area and let you know, and it will need to be removed by a licensed specialist.
Our work and guarantees
We take care to do every job properly and to a good standard. If you're not happy with something, please tell us as soon as possible and we'll put it right where it's down to our workmanship.
Plants and turf are living things. Once planted, their care, especially watering, is your responsibility. Any guarantee on workmanship or materials will be set out in your quote.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as you can. If we've already ordered materials specifically for your job, we may need to charge for them.
If you've agreed to the work at your home following our visit, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. If you ask us to start within that period and then cancel, you'll pay for work already done.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or our liability where it can't legally be limited.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
